"In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree..."

This famous ballad, penned by Jesuan alumnus Coleridge, is the inspiration for this year's ball.

The ideas of author were induced by an opium trip, so it is not surprising that they may not be entirely clear. However, there are many references to the mystical and strong suggestions of a far-Eastern feel and it is this slant that we are taking. The design, food, drink and ents will all have an oriental flavour....
